Chocolate Cherry Rum Cake

Here’s How to make this delicious recipe!
Here are the INGREDIENTS:
CAKE LAYERS
- ¼ cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup milk
- 5 cups white granulated sugar
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 5 tsp baking powder
- ¾ cup unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
FILLING:
- 5 cups pitted cherries
- 1 cup golden rum
FROSTING
- 1 cup white gran. Sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 5 large eggs
- 2 cups butter
Now pay close attention:
1. Chop cherries into bowl. Pour rum in. Set soak for at least 1 hour while covered.
- Preheat over- 350 F Ready 2 cake pans.
- Place butter, eggs, vanilla, sugar into bowl and whisk. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder. Add dry to wet!
- Frosting time! – Egg whites into mixer bowl. Sugar and water into small saucepan. Heat – Medium. – Until reaches 240F. When syrup is almost ready begin whisking egg whites until soft peaks form. Pour sugar syrup in a thin stream into the egg whites, whisking on high speed. Whisk until meringue forms. – Probably about 5 min!
- Add butter in small portions and whisk. Frosting will separate continue whisking until uniform and fluffy.
- Assembly! – Soak Chocolate cake layers with more rum, cherry juice then top with frosting and cherries. Frost cake!
