  • 1 tablespoon (8 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup (67 g) white granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp (19 g) corn starch
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) water
  • 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For Buttercream:
  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (125 g) confectioner’s sugar, optional
