- 1 1/2 cups (355 ml) whole milk
- 1 tablespoon (8 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 vanilla bean
- 3 large egg yolks
- 1/3 cup (67 g) white granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp (19 g) corn starch
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) water
- 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For Buttercream:
- 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (125 g) confectioner’s sugar, optional
