Guinness Chocolate Cake


Here are the ingredients to make this delicious recipe!

 

Beer cake!

  • 1¾ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup plain black coffee
  • ½ cup guinness beer

Icing

  • 3½ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup milk (may need more or less)
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, melted

 

Now pay close attention….

 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Grease 2x 9-inch cake pans.
  3. In bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder.
  4. In second bowl, mix granulated sugar, butter, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, sour cream.
  5. Mix dry and wet ingredients. Alternating with the coffee and buttermilk, and add beer.
  6. Add to pans and Bake for 22 minutes.
  7. Let cool.
  8. For icing, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, melted chocolate, butter, cocoa and a little milk
  9. Decorate/ ice the cake!
